Whether it’s a lazy morning breakfast on your balcony, a quiet lunch between excursions, or a late-night craving that needs satisfying — Galley Bay’s room service brings freshly prepared gourmet dishes straight to your suite with prompt, personalized care. Order from our curated menu and let us take care of the rest. Because every moment of your stay should feel exactly the way you want it to. A $10 USD fee per tray applies. Menu is subject to change.

Dress Code

Evening: Casually elegant. Gentlemen are required to wear collared shirts with slacks or smart tailored shorts (June 1 – September 30) and dress shoes. Ladies are required to wear skirts, dresses, or trousers with a nice top and dress shoes or sandals. Cut-off shorts, ripped jeans, flip-flops, t-shirts, and tank tops are not permitted.

Stay still or move at your own pace. Galley Bay's pace is the guest's, never the resort's. The watersports are non-motorised and complimentary; the land sports are the kind you can do in linen.

On the water

Sailing, snorkelling, kayaking, paddle-boarding, Hobie Cat. All non-motorised, all complimentary, all on the same uninterrupted three-quarter-mile of beachfront.

On land

Sunrise yoga by the sea. A tennis court, table tennis, croquet, and a fleet of complimentary bicycles for the lagoon-side trails. A fitness centre and library for the slower hours.

Meet our general manager and get to know our staff at our weekly Manager’s Cocktail Party. Sip a refreshing cocktail and sample delicious hors d’oeuvres amid tropical sea breezes as you mingle with fellow guests.

Our weekly Caribbean barbecue lets you indulge in an array of island flavors as you savor salads, fresh vegetables and such barbecue favorites as spare ribs, steak, local kingfish and chicken.

THE GARDEN TOUR

Tuesday morning’s garden tour spotlights our resort’s many flowers, plants and wildlife. This fun learning experience includes a look at the source of our farm-to-table cuisine, the on-site vegetable and herb garden.

COOKING DEMO

Join our cooking demonstration and take home the tastes of the Caribbean. Let our chefs share some of their favorite recipes and cooking techniques, and let you sample the delicious dish you learn to make.

MOVIE NIGHT

On Movie Night, pick your spot on our beautiful beach, sit back, relax and watch a great film under twinkling stars, as the surf rolls in. Personal headsets ensure this silent movie experience does not disturb others.

RUM TASTING

The evening begins with a walk-through of the extensive selection of local and international rums. Guided by our rum-ologist, our guests will learn about the rare blends and vintage rums from the region whilst seeing, smelling, and tasting the aromas that come out of the glass. The Rum Shack design pays homage to the local culture and uses reclaimed wood, and galvanized roof materials.

How can I book airport transfers?

The Galley Bay Resort, Antigua does not service airport transfers. However, if you do not already have prearranged airport transfers, no need to worry, we have some options for you. Airport transfers can be prearranged with your Elite Island Resorts specialist or your travel agent for those guests that booked direct with Elite Island Vacations ONLY. For all other Galley Bay Resort guests, you can prearrange your airport transfer with our preferred airport transfer service provider, Eagle Discovery Transfers and Tours, Antigua. Are children allowed at Galley Bay Resort & Spa?

To maintain our adults-only atmosphere, children under the age of 18 are not permitted at Galley Bay Resort & Spa.

What type of deposit is required?

Deposits vary depending on the company you used to make your reservation.

Is internet access available?

Yes, this is included in your guest room and most public areas.

Can I bring my pet or service animal?

In accordance with local law, pets and service animals are not permitted at this resort. No exceptions.

Is tipping allow at the Resort?

Yes you can reward the outstanding service of our staff by using the tipping box located at the Reception area.

Does the hotel charge a Resort Fee?

Yes, a Resort Fee of US$24 per room, per night applies to all bookings. The resort fee is payable locally at the resort.

Can I visit and use the facilities and services of other Elite Island Resort properties during my stay in Antigua?

Each Elite Island Resort property is unique. As such, we do not offer move around or dine around type programs between resorts. If you are a travel professional and would like to arrange a site visit to an alternate property within the Elite Island Resorts portfolio, kindly contact Guest Services for assistance.

Can I rent a car in Antigua?

Yes, car rental is available at the rental desk located at the resort. The daily cost is approximately $50 and you will need to purchase a temporary visitor’s license for a nominal $20 fee regardless of the country you come from.

Is there a casino at the resort?

No, but the closest one is only 10 minutes away.

Is there an ATM at the resort?

No, but there is one in town, 10 minutes away.

Is there a gift shop at the resort?

Yes there is.

Can my room be upgraded?

Yes, upon availability and with an extra charge payable at the resort.

What type of beds are in the rooms?

There are King beds in all room categories.

Does the resort provide a laundry service for guests?

Yes, laundry bags are provided in all guest rooms, this service is at an additional charge.

Does my room have a fridge?

Yes, all rooms have mini-fridges.

Where is Galley Bay Resort & Spa located?

Galley Bay Resort & Spa is located on the sunset side of Antigua, cradled by a 3/4 mile white sand beach and a fascinating saltwater bird sanctuary lagoon. Please visit our About page for more information.

Do I need a passport to travel to Antigua?

We strongly recommend that all members of your party travel with a passport with a validity date of at least six months past the date of your departure ‘from’ the island. As of December 31, 2005, a passport will be required for all US and Canadian citizens to travel to the Caribbean. For information on obtaining or renewing a passport please go to: //travel.state.gov/passport/index.html . In our current times, passports are the most expeditious and reliable form of identification when traveling domestically or internationally.

How far away ‘from’ the airport is the resort?

We are approximately 20 minutes from the airport.

Do you arrange transportation to local churches on Sundays?

Yes, this can be arranged for an additional taxi fee.

Is the US dollar accepted through the island?

The US dollars is accepted. The exchange rate varies between $2.60 – $2.70 to the EC dollar. We also exchange US, Pounds, Euros and CAD for a maximum of $100 per day.

Are there any day trips?

In addition to the complimentary activities that are a part of Galley Bay Resort & Spa all-inclusive package, there are a variety of optional excursions that may be arranged through guest services. Take a trip to Nelson’s Dockyard or Shirley Heights. There is a fee for these, and other optional excursions.

Is there a tennis pro at the resort? How much are lessons?

Yes, there is a tennis pro. Lessons are available for an additional cost.

How many golf courses are on the island and how far away are they?

There are two golf courses on the island – they are both 30-45 minutes away and a taxi will cost in excess of $20.

How many tennis courts does the resort have and what kind of surface are they?

Galley Bay Resort & Spa has one tennis court with artificial turf.

Are motorized water sports available?

Motorized water sports are not available at Galley Bay Resort & Spa, but we offer non-motorized water sports including: paddle boarding, sailing, kayaking and snorkeling for your enjoyment.

Are bicycles available?

Bicycles are complimentary during your stay for property use only and you can pick them up next to the Guest Service area.

Can I snorkel right off the beach at the resort?

Yes, and snorkeling trips are also available at the Tour Desk. Masks and Snorkels are provided in all guest rooms.

What all-inclusive alcohol is available?

Yes, all restaurants and bars serve branded liquors, a selection of house wines, and local beer.

Do you provide snacks between meals?

The Barefoot Grill opens daily from 12:00 noon – 5:30 p.m and serves delicious snacks from homemade burgers to kebabs. Our Coffee Shop opens daily from 7:00 a.m. – 10:30 p.m. and offers an array of delectable pastries, the perfect complement to your fresh-brewed coffee, juice, or tea. Afternoon tea is served daily between 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m at the Sea Grape Restaurant . Please note that hours are subject to change.

Is there night-time entertainment at the Resort?

Live bands play nightly.

Are dinner reservations required?

Reservations are only required at two of our restaurants. Gauguin Restaurant and Ismay’s Restaurant. Please note that there is surcharge of $45 plus taxes at Ismay’s Restaurant.

What is the dress code policy for the restaurants?

The resort’s dining venues have an Elegant Casual dress code. During the daytime, footwear and covered up dry bathing suits are required in all dining rooms. In the evening, after 6:30 p.m. the resort takes it a step above with men required to wear collared shirts with slacks (or smart tailored shorts in the summer months — June 1st – September 30th ) and dress shoes – no shorts, T-shirts, or sandals. Women are required to wear skirts, dresses or trousers with a nice top and dress shoes or sandals.
